What are the advantages of using Bonded car storage?

As an approved Customs bonded car storage facility, we can offer our clients tax-free car storage, indefinitely, for imported cars.

A bonded car storage facility can be advantageous in many ways:

An imported vehicle can be placed into bonded storage indefinitely and then exported overseas with VAT and Duty waivered entirely.

Place your imported car in a ‘temporary bond’ if you are undecided as to what to do with it. Again, this will be exempt from VAT and Duty as long as you don’t register the car in the UK and use it on UK roads.

You could choose to use it in an asset-funded loan without the additional expense of import duty.

Place your imported vehicle into bonded storage in order to delay the payment of VAT and Duty, so it only becomes payable once the vehicle is registered in the UK.

If your plan is to sell your vehicle in the UK, but you find you can’t find a buyer, you won’t lose money if you have placed your imported vehicle into a bonded storage facility. If you didn’t use a bonded warehouse to store the vehicle and paid duty on the import, you would lose money by importing it. But when you store it in a bonded warehouse, you won’t have to worry about costing yourself money if you aren’t able to find a buyer. You can export it back out of the country without paying Duty.
